Living with Cerebral Palsy: A “Gramma’s” Perspective

I have had so many responses on the controversial topic of whether or not to choose saving measures for a child that is very likely to be disabled.

Although I’ve had many sympathetic people, many answers have come from relatives who wish that life could be easier, but are so glad this person living with cerebral palsy is in their life. On such person is Hailey’s “Gramma”. She has dedicated herself to Painting for Hailey

Please take time to visit this site. I was blessed when I did. In fact, Janet has a poem on her front page that I would also like to share in closing. It pretty much says it all:

You weren’t like other children,
And God was well aware,
You’d need a caring family,
With love enough to share.
And so He sent you to us,
And much to our surprise,
You haven’t been a challenge,
But a blessing in disguise.
Your winning smiles and laughter,
The pleasures you impart,
Far outweigh your special needs,
And melt the coldest heart.
We’re proud that we’ve been chosen,
To help you learn and grow,
The job that you have brought us,
Is more than you can know.
A precious gift from Heaven,
A treasure from above,
A child who’s taught us many things,
But most of all- “Real Love”
